Posted on June 1, 2021 by mirugo 1 THANKING GOD WHEN I DONT FEEL LIKE IT Text: Thanksgiving from the word means to offer thanks to someone right. It entails you rendering praise unto an individual. It’s an act. It something that is done. Colossians 2:6-7 (NKJV) As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. From this scripture, you see that included in all these our requirements as a believer it is expected of us that we had abound in it with thanksgiving. So the Christian life and ur walk with God is one in which Thanksgiving is a crucial aspect of it. So you cannot take the place of Thanksgiving out the Christian life. It’s what God requires of us, to thank him in all things, remember the Bible said ” In all things give thanks to God for this is the will of God concerning us in Christ Jesus,” that means thanksgiving and be a part of our daily walk, nothing in life or even whatever you experience each day, annoying, painful or infuriating experience and make you not to praise God or give him thanks. Avoid anything from taking you out of the place of Thanksgiving, if you don’t even know what to thank God for, thank God that you’re saved. If you know how blessed it is to be saved you will thank God always. Look at what David knew that made him even thank God based on his salvation. Psalms 103:1-5 103 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. This benefits are given unto those who are saved, who have received Jesus into their life. First he said 1) forgive all thine iniquities( meaning he forgives all your sins, can u imagine God being angry with you each day for your mistakes, imagine if we had to sacrifice bulls and rams each day for the sins we commit daily, I believe no one here can afford that,) so hence I say thank God. 2) Who healeth all thine diseases( u have heard of all the terrible disease that are known in this world today, some of them, science says they are incurable e.g Cancer, HIV, Tuberculosis…. and so many others, but yet due to salvation and you are now God’s property and child, you have a God who can heal any disease no matter the type,) and yet many of us complain for things unseen, why not say… Father I thank you for this privilege even the ones I don’t ask for but yet I am entitled to it. 3) Who redeemeth thine life from destruction ( if you actually know what this means some of us will thank God everyday and hour, imagine the terrible news we hear of people, who just stepped outside their house and never returned, wow!!!From num.3 – I was just reading today of a 16 year old, very pretty and beautiful girl who was sexually abused and murdered in Jos, it was so painful. The painful part of it all was that it happened on her 16th birthday just happened this month. The fact that you stay in a secure area or are mature enough to handle yourself doesn’t stop dangers and destruction, this is all a proof that salvation is so great, that you walk out day and night but yet God says ” I will never leave you nor forsake you, he also says ” No weapon fashioned against you shall prosper, . Surprisingly beyond just physical attack and destruction we have spiritual destruction and attack, u hear of people stepping out of their house and then bam!!!! Madness, Death from nowhere, Fainting, Stroke and many more. But then some of us don’t dim it fit to thank God. Rather we complain for our challenges, rather say, Father I thank you for this 3rd privilege and many more. U hear of various Christians, who God miraculously delivered from death, accident, physically and spiritually. What a mighty God we have, Father I thank you. Can you see the mighty works of God, even this little thing we consider salvation. 4) Who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies,( when we come to this aspect I really love this one a lot, do you truly know what this means, this is you experiencing good things that you didn’t do anything to deserve. You just stepped somewhere and they give you what you didn’t deserve or even practice for, for some of us it’s academic success, some of us is favour. There is a place in God where you don’t do anything yet just because of his love for you and mercy, he decides to reveal his goodness to you.This is a benefit of salvation we don’t thank God about, yet we always remember our failures and things that didn’t work out, rather let’s say Father we thank you. 5) Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like an eagle. ( This talks about how he supplies for what we eat and have to You sent Today at 06:40quench our hunger, imagine you as a teenager not eating continuously day and night, you turn to a withering stick, but yet God sees it fit to provide for you what to eat, so that you look fresh and good-looking, the Bible said in Matt 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”.Pls read that Matt 6:26 so carefully and circumspectly…the birds don’t plant or even sow, yet they wake up each morning seeing food to eat, God yet provides for them, how much more you, a child of God!!! Pls let’s rather thank God in all things we do, u may not eat a 3 square meal, but you still eat something, and the more you thank God the more he releases unto you,. Can i show you one secret, that will make you experience daily and continuous show of this benefits, it’s Thanksgiving!!!! Some of us usually think that this aspect of the loving kindness and tender mercies of God is once in a while, dude and sis, I show you a secret, THANKSGIVING( Thank God). Assignment: Thank God today for the benefits of salvation you received, and also the things he has given you and the ones you are yet to receive. Conclusion: If you haven’t yet experienced salvation, the saving power of Jesus, then you miss out on this benefits. If you want to make that prayer of salvation now, say after me……. Let’s pray: Dear Jesus we thank you for today, we especially thank you for all the beautiful things you taught us today, we thank you for your grace which will enable us to live by this rhema and way of life, we also thank you for the testimonies we will obtain from this faith based step.
